In order to understand why both types of translations coexist in the current Peruvian market, we will explain the origin of both.

In 1970, when the career of professional translator did not exist in Peru yet, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had the need for calling a public bid addressed to people with foreign language skills in order to appoint them to the position of Sworn Public Translator (TPJ are the initials in Spanish). They do Official Translations to date. This call has not been made for many years; therefore, there are not very many TPJ nowadays. Even though this type of translation is still used, institutions cannot demand it anymore, according to the regulations in force.

The first universities to include the professional career of translation in their 5-year academic programs were UNIFE and URP. In 1996, the Colegio de Traductores del Perú – CTP (Peruvian Association of Certified Licensed Translators) emerged in order to house professional translators. From that point on, the profession of the Certified Licensed Translator has existed. This professional, who holds a degree in Translation and is a member of the CTP, does Certified Translations in both physical and digital versions. At present, there are more than 1,100 members and this number is increasing every year.

The advantage of the Certified Translation is that, the more Certified Translators there are, the better offers you get. This means better rates and faster deadlines for the customer. The format is already well-known by private and state entities. It has no limitations and has gradually become more renowned throughout the world. Any document (with or without apostille/legalization) can be translated. The digital version allows any person in the world to have access to this service. The user receives the translation in PDF format and can print it from anywhere in the world if a physical version is required.

It is worth mentioning that the Digital Certified Translation has the electronic signature and the sworn statement of the Certified Licensed Translator who certifies the accuracy of the translation, a QR code on every page, as well as the legalization by the national president of the CTP. It can be legalized/apostilled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Peru too.

For more information, please visit the following link:

https://tradulima.com/traduccion-certificada-digital/

*************************************************

If you need Certified Translations in English or French, please send your documents to any of the following means to receive a quote:

WhatsApp https://wa.me/1989669888

E-mail: info@tradulima.com

Difference between the Official Translation and Certified Translation in Peru Although the Official Translation and the Certified Translation vary in their presentation format, both translations have the same legal value and meet all the requirements demanded for national and international procedures.
